According to the local village scuttlebutt/gossip, I do everything wrong.

For example, how dare I leave leaves lying on the ground where they can decompose and return nutrients to the tree.

Fall leaves on the ground. Apparently, this is "wrong".

The “right” way to do it is to rake up the leaves, and then while they still have a significant water content, burn them on a day when there is a proper inversion layer, creating sufficient smoke to inundate the village and wonderfully lowering the air quality for all residents.

Burning leaves and polluting the environment. The "right" way to do things.

Between us, I think I will continue to do it “wrong”.
