This is a photos montage of the final rough plastering, skimming and finish plastering, and paining of a wall around a small window in our house.

Window framed with wood to get a square area around the window that is even with a new layer of wall plaster.

Roughing up the surface for new plaster around the window.

Applying new plaster.around the window.

Leveling the plaster around the window.

Plaster applied and leveled, but still wet.

Tools used to float the new plaster.

A wood float is used first to further level and smooth the plaster.

A bit of Styrofoam was used to finish off the smoothing.

Finished rough plastering around the window.

Finishing plaster being applied as a skimming layer.

Finished skimming but before painting.

Finished wall after painting.
Another DIY project. I did all this work myself. 🙂
Beautiful! Are these photos recent? If so, how’s the weather? I know it’s been cool and wet around Europe. Just wondering if everything’s curing and drying well.

The rough plaster was done much earlier, and was completely dry. The skimming and painting was done late last month when we had a mini heat wave here and no rain. So the paint dried fine to the touch. But then the weather did snap to cool and raining. The room is heated, but the paint is surely still curing, so I will not add any final wood trim until some time next month.
