We have had some occasional snow flakes happen already this month. And a little bit of ice from night snow on the roof in the morning, but nothing really sticking. Till today. Today is the first snow day of the year, when snow was accumulating.

I have not fully lost my childhood enthusiasm for the first such snow day. But as an adult it is often more simply something I need to sweep out of my way tomorrow to check the mail box. The adult me now only really gets excited when the snow gets enough for Nordic skiing. Then both the inner child and the outside adult in me both come out and I can not wait to get the skis on!
