Plants Under Grow Lights
So I bought some grow lights.
As simply a preview, this is how some of my starters now appear.

As anyone who is a seed starter in trays knows, seeing those little green bumps as the plants start to sprout is a magic moment. It shows you got it right. Not too much water. Just enough warmth. Etc. And the seeds responded. A very magical moment.
I sow almost all of my plants in trays as starters. Any time of the year. And I also like to reuse things when I can. So for some seeds I reuse egg containers to start the seeds.
This year I am growing my lettuce earlier and my tomato and eggplant later. So I am already pricking out lettuce, while still have not sown any tomatoes.
February all too often is really unpredictable. And when it gets nasty, it becomes a very cold month here. A real witch to deal with.
Planted my leek multi-sown starters last week and also my red kohlrabi starters.
Free to no cost and easy to build cold frame from bubble wrap or any other plastic.
