My update about my radish and peas during a very cold period in March which I knew was coming. In short, insulation works. See details in the rest of this post.

Grow lights: Getting quick to the point: They work well. I am impressed.
Last year, I lost a lot of my early garden planted seedlings due to a late March cold spell. Decimated my radish and peas.
Looks like we will have another late March cold snap this year as well.
A simple photo update of the lettuce I pricked out last month showing both then and now. The grow lights …
A photo showing about 1/3 of my March seedlings.
So I bought some grow lights.
As simply a preview, this is how some of my starters now appear.
As anyone who is a seed starter in trays knows, seeing those little green bumps as the plants start to sprout is a magic moment. It shows you got it right. Not too much water. Just enough warmth. Etc. And the seeds responded. A very magical moment.
I sow almost all of my plants in trays as starters. Any time of the year. And I also like to reuse things when I can. So for some seeds I reuse egg containers to start the seeds.
