North Lake Balaton Tourism
Some call the St. George Hill the Sphinx of Hungary, because of its distinctive natural shape.
Like the cryptic and mysterious Sphinx, It has many hidden treasures only known to those who have spent the time and effort to discover its secrets. The St. George Hill is located near Lake Balaton, the largest freshwater lake in Central Europe, in the Badacsony Wine Region. The lake mitigates the local micro-climate to give the region, along with its fortuitous geography of volcanic hills, the correct temperatures and soils for wine growing.
