A Good Year for Red Kohlrabi

My red Kohlrabi are doing very well this year.

Kohlrabi is often an unknown vegetable, but one of my favorites. Every part of the above ground plant if edible, which includes both the bulb and the leaves. And are great baked, broiled, steamed, fried, or even better raw in a nice salad.

Salad of only carrots, tomatoes and Kohlrabi leaves, stems and bulb.

Red Kohlrabi are a spring Kohlrabi, and should be all harvested by the end of June. But I have also planted green Kohlrabi which will continue my Kohlrabi season well into the summer.

I really liked your post because I learned something. I’ve grown up eating kohlrabi, but we never ate the leaves or stems! I’ll certainly not be wasting those anymore! Thanks.
