An unusually hot and dry summer till today. When we got lots of rain and some hail. We could use the rain. But this storm started as a real downpour dropping 1.5 cm (0.6 in) of rain in the first 15 minutes. And of course the hail. Which not only punched holes in large leafs of some plants, but also knocked off and damaged a few tomatoes.
I have seen worse damage from hail, and fortunately we do not have hail every year.
Hail damage on Swiss chard. Hail damage on eggplant. Hail damage to tomatoes.
