We had a very cold May. Then most of June was a heat wave and very dry. But today, July 1 was cool and we had a gentle rain. Weirdly I can not remember when we last had a gentle rain. But I do remember when I last had a dark beer and a cigar. It was over two years ago on a road trip to Krakow Poland. I have been many places in nearly 30 countries. This year’s total garlic harvest came to over 200 garlic bulbs of good size, with about 30 little ones that will be used pretty much immediately since I ran out of garlic from last year already.

I planted over 150 garlic last fall, at different times and in different places. And the earliest plantings are becoming ripe for harvest.
I often try to maximize space by intercropping; that is grow many different plants in basically the same space. The classic method of intercropping that many people find popular is the Three Sisters garden. Which can take up a lot of space. But I also intercrop on a much smaller scale as well.
